My sources tell me that Mr Neil Ellis was awarded a Golden Gouge at a recent national woodturners get together. I understand this award is made for services to woodturning in Australia, and is a very great honour. Also awarded was Mr Ted Anderson, the power behind the Australian Woodturning Exhibition.

Recognition for the work of these two gentlemen is long overdue both men are more than deserved of these awards and I congratulate them on this achievement.

I believe the first two awards were given to Vic Wood and Richard Raffan a few years ago, with other past awards going to turners in America and New Zealand.

Congratulations to both Neil and Ted. Well done gentlemen. It is my privilage to accept you both as members of my family. From now on you and yours will come under the protection of The Don. Any thing you ask will be yours.

The Don.

Congratulations Neil! Well deserved and well earned! The Woodworking community wouldn't be where it is today without the efforts of people like yourself! http://ubb.ubeaut.com.au/ubb/wink.gif
But I too will have to wait until Brisbane next year to offer a more personal congratulatory handshake, oh and a coffee http://ubb.ubeaut.com.au/ubb/biggrin.gif

Congratualations must also go to Mr Ted Anderson.

Cheers
