OK Jock, now give it to us in pakeha language!

Ad, my uncle in Amersfoort just sent a pic of the town walls dusted with snow. Very pretty indeed.

Yes Ern, this is really beautiful, I walked on this bridge in 2005, while visiting Amersfoort. In Bergen op Zoom we have a similar old tower, who gave an access to the town in the middle ages, unfortunally without the city walls.
In the middle ages there were many fortified cities in the Netherlands, like Amersfoort and Bergen op Zoom, these old city towers is what is remaining of that time.
Wish you and your family a Merry Christmas.

Had the 3 'kids' and my 90 yo mother over for lunch today.

A really good ham, plenty of salads, home-baked bread, trad chrissy pudding with LOTS of brandy butter :-}

It was a damn good day. Prob the last such with my mother.

My kids (from 2 marriages) get on well and have built their own relationships with each other, which is a wonder and a joy to me.

G'day Ern!
You are a very fortunate man to have you children with you on Christmas day. We are not so blessed, however, past seasons are relived through our splendid grandchildren who are forever a reminder.:saddest:
Peace be with you!
