Gents,

Has anyone bought one of the handy dandy Carbatec 44 gallon drum lids fitted with a 4" inlet and outlet to act as a chip collector between a thicknesser (or similar) and a dust collector? I did, and cannot get the little sucker to fit any known type of "44 gallon" drum, including the American version. I have asked Carbatec what gives, and they don't seem to know anything about it. "You're the only one who's complained." Strange. Does anyone have a solution?

Kevin,

Try a stock and feed store. I have one of the Veritas Cyclone lids (quite happy with it as I have a 205 litre plastic feed bin about 1/3 full and about 1/2 inch the dust bag of my 2HP DC).

You may want to use an elbow or bend some straight pipe to get the in-feed shooting in at an angle on one of the Carbatec lids.

Hi

Yep I fell for one of those useless bits of too.
Doesnt fit no matter what you do, and the inlet/outlet are too close together for it to work anyway.
