Hi all,
Just after some feed back.

I have a customer that’s asked me to make him a replacement floor/deck for his boat, he specified that it was to be made from Celery Top Pine (and a lovely wood this is too). He also asked for an oil finish, does anyone have any recommendations as to the best oil to use?

Thanks for any advise.
Kevin

Hey,

The Organ Oil Decking Oil is fantastic at repelling water, hard wearing, easy to apply but I don´t know how good it will be with salt water if the boat is sea going.

Deks Olje is a marine oil and available at most marine stores Whitworths etc, that is suitable for decks etc it is a marine product decking stains build up to much in marine enviroment as you have to recoat more often due to UV and salt water. Deks lets the natural grain etc show through as well and can be recoated often with not a lot of build up.

Steve,

Thanks for the correction. Have to admit that I´ve never oiled a boat but figured that the salt would be a problem never thought about the UV.
