Got this in the mail today

Stanley Black & Decker is bidding goodbye to Delta Tools, selling the brand to a Taiwanese company.

Not much more detail than that. Anyone buying may wish to consider warranty and spares.

B&D have run the Delta brand into the ground....hopefully it can rise again under new ownership.

Hopefully the new company can restore the brand as said above. We will most likely see the tools back in Aus again as the Chinese companies tend to not ignore us.

...it does take ahwile to restore faith in brands that have been driven down in quality. Hopefully it comes good - always great to have more choice

There was quite a bit on this in yesterday's edition of Woodworker's Journal's eZine. Seemly even though it is Taiwanese company they intend to manufacture a lot in the States an concentrate on their traditional core of fixed (as in bolted down not repaired) machines at an affordable price.
