I always think of this song when another great guitarist dies. It was co-written by Jimmy Vaughan in honour of his brother "Little Stevie".

Very sad. I recently saw the DVD of the Thin Lizzy tribute to Phil Linnot. Moore was a phenomenal Guitarist. I first became aware of him on Andrew Lloyd Webber's 1980 (odd) release "Variations" (of Paganini). Man there were some good musicians on that album.

Moore played with everyone, so I subsequently learnt.

We'll start losing a lot more from now on eh?

Yeah, we've certainly lost more than enough of our heroes from our youth, some through "lifestyle choices", Hendix, Joplin, Morrison, Rory Gallagher, Phil Lynott, others were at the wrong place at the wrong time, Lennon, Stevie Ray Vaughan, 1/2 of Lynyrd Skynyrd and Greg Allman just to name a few. Others have come through the excesses of the sixties relatively unscathed and continue to make great music and even tour the world, the glimmer twins (Mick & Keith), Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, John Mayall, Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, Peter Green, Jeff Beck et al.
The clock is ticking though :sad1:.

Another one for your last group there GJ, Neil Young. He played at the "Big Day Out" I believe.

So did Iggy Pop, it amazes me that some of these guys are still alive. But if you looked at Iggy you'd wonder .

HA! Nah, leave 'im on the lathe - look at all that figuring. Although there may be many termite tracks in there (or tracks of some type).
