Hi, Been awhile since I last posted, but I thought I'd show what I made.
This is a pattern for a wheel that will eventually be cast in polyurethane.
The outside rim is made from MDF and was done freehand. The hub and horn button was made from a combination of MDF and jelutong.
Although you can't see it, the working horn button was a bit complex for a first timer. It is a bayonet design and works well.
The spokes are from aluminum and glued together with Jenco, the plumbers epoxy.
Finished with thinned out epoxy resin. Initial sanding done with Abranet and final sanding with Micromesh.
Now considering using Shellawax Cream for the final finish, depending on what an experienced patternmaker/mouldmaker says.
