2. 12" platter in Blackwood. This one's found a permanent home middle of the coffee table.
3. Small shallow mallee burl bowl.
4. Another small burl bowl.
5. 10" bowl in Huon Pine.
DarrylF 30th November 2004, 09:47 PM 6. 5" bowl in Myrtle burl with a little spalting.
7. 7" bowl in Lace Sheoak - love this stuff.
8. 5" bowl in some sort of Eucalypt burl.
9. 10" bowl in Tiger Myrtle.
10. This one was turned VERY wet from a chunk of timber found on the side of the road. No idea what it is, but it turned well, finished nicely then proceeded to warp like hell. Looks kinda cool actually :)

Where do your blanks come from?
Most of the bought blanks came from www.woodcentre.com.au (http://www.woodcentre.com.au) - but I mostly prefer to buy slabs and cut them up myself, of woods like the NSW rosewood, huon pine, jacaranda etc. One of these days I'll pick up a chainsaw and go log hunting in earnest.
