AFAIK most Australin species live less than 1000 yrs. Eucalypts, although often very large, are not particularly long lived.


The Huon Pine is our oldest tree, some with ages in excess of 2 000 yrs and perhaps 3 000.
There are clumps of Huon that have been established for approximately 10 000 years, but the individual trees are nowhere near that age,

There are some Eucs near braidwood NSW that are relics from the last ice ice age 10,000 years ago, they get burn down and grow again but the seed can only be germinated by putting it in the freezer for 6 months!
