Hei Guys,
I know this topic has been done to death, but I have just been given what looks like an early inccarnation of a GMC lathe - it's got the shape and appearance of the GMC but it's about the same shade of green that some MC900's are sold in.

I was thinking maybe use the thing as a disk sander except that I don't really have any use for one, but the lathe was given to me by a family friend so I am obliged to find some use for it.
Any ideas?
Cheers
Paul

Buy a WASP belt sander for it.
Still, it would take up a hellava lot of space.

turn it into one of those gem tumbling things that were popular in the sixties.... :o
use it as a spit.... should handle a full sized rabbit or even a cat...... :p
advertise it as a Durden L500..... no-one could tell the difference..... ;)
adapt it to power of those apple coring doohickeys?????

Put it on e-bay. tell 'em its haunted by a ghost, and that there is a slight impression of the virgin mary in the paint, if you look at it in the right light. You'll make $1000's.....
Alternatively - I have a lego technics set that has a motor component missing - Actually forget it, it wouldn't be powerful enough - unless i can locate some ultra-lightweight rubber bands... :)

You can put various acessories on it,
a rag buff or swansdown mop
a disc sander
a drum sander
(put a small table under the drum and you have a small thickness sander)
or use it for small spindle turning jobs etc
