G'day folks,
I have a 20 year-old Moran recliner on which the mechanism has pretty much reached the end of its days. I want to obtain a replacement mechanism so I can swap the old one out. I was wondering if anyone could point me to a supplier for entire mechanisms that may be compatible (I don't mind if it's a bit different as long as I can modify the chair to suit without having to cut any leather).
I can see some mobs selling replacement recliner parts here and there, but so far haven't come across anyone offering entire mechanisms.
As for Moran themselves, maybe I'm dim, but I can't seem to find them on the web anywhere. I know I had no problem locating them 12 years ago when I last had it repaired (they did it that time). There is a 'Moran of Melbourne' listed in Noble Park but there's not much other detail on them. I'll give them a call but in any event even if they are the same company I'd expect that an original mechanism, even if available, would be much more expensive than a generic - hence my interest in finding alternatives.
