Dunno .

From the US I see ads for stuff you can soak into spalted wood to stabilise it. Also thin epoxy for soaking.

Very interesting. I watched the middle bit twice and it seems like they are onto a good thing. If it does soak in and bind the water up as they suggest, it would work nicely in stabalising bowls. The might not be much fun to turn after the petrification process has kicked along a bit... It would be interesting to see if any of the American turners are already using it.

Sounds interesting . I wonder what effect the silicone would have on your finish like DO .

Looks and sounds like the bee's knees.

Like Ted, I wondered about the silicone bit.

Very interesting. I note their web site does have their normal product, and another called "Turners choice", not clear on what the difference is.

May be worth getting a gallon, just to try it out. Tried to find out how much to send it, but the site wasn't working properly when it cam to choosing shipping method. If they give the option of by ship, it will be a lot cheaper, and I don't mind waiting.

The chap who writes and publishes "More Woodturning" has commented on it a bit
He seems to think it's pretty good

Sounds a bit like snake oil to me

I looked at some time ago, then they were not to keen on doing any business so far from home and any way I only wanted a sample. I then thought I might let someone else look into to it.

I dont think selling head lice treatment, animal treatment stuff all on the same site does much for the wood products. As Paul has pointed out its has all the hallmarks of snake oil, happy to be wrong tho' .
