Hi
I have been looking for information on "Acid Etching" concrete. Not wood finishing I know, but finishinig all the same. The process involves coloring and etching the concrete and then coating with a clear sealer.
I have seen all the references for the materials on US sites, but can't find anywhere in Aus to buy it.
Does anyone know of a supplier in Aus.?

Thanks
Woodcutta

Thanks for the reply Stephen. This looks like an etch before painting. Is that correct? I have attached a website that better illustrates what I am trying to achieve.

Thanks again

Had a look at the site. Looks a great idea. You could still try a concrete supplies place a see if they have seen it in Aus.

Looks like an interesting idea, let us know how you go if you get hold of some of the product and use it.

I, too, am most impressed with some of the finishes that have been produced using this technique. Unfortunately, I don't have any concrete floors.

A couple of Oz concrete patina stains are -

Also, have a look at the piccies at http://www.acidstainconcrete.com/
This site is primarily an advertisement for a "how to" video but some fantastic examples of "artwork" floors. Note the "Do you have an acid staining question" box on the right hand side.

http://www.stencilsystems.com/texstain.html is also worth a visit for the examples.

Thanks for the feedback. I will be working in Brisbane in early January so I will get into Permacolour and see what they have.

Thanks again
