Virgin of the Rocks is the masterpiece of Leonardo Da Vinci. He painted two almost identical pictures under this same name, which are the Louvre version and the London version. The one I made is the partial detail of the London version, which was painted around AD 1508.

This is the original painting by Da Vinci.

This is the detail of my work. It took me one and a half month (1-2 hrs per day) to finish this marquetry. Size: 6.5"x8" for the picture part, with 1.75" wide mahogany margin on all four sides. The frame costs me 56 dollars. Finish: French Polish.
Comparing my last work (the Girl with a Pearl Earring), this one has more detail to do and it does require a higher technique, quite a challenging work. I am satisfied with the face of this angel, esp. the eyes and hair. Although the other work has a better overall visual effect.
