Finally some time to play in the shed. A friend wanted a peanut nibbles bowl so knocked this up from something un-named in the wood pile. I think it may be myrtle but could be wrong, any other ideas?

The bowl is about seven cm tall and 20 cm wide. I love the black lines in the bottom, though it could have been a bit smother.

Cheers

No idea about your Aussie woods, but I do like the bowl and the bit of spalting.

It does not look nearly as deep internally as the depth of the wood, is that an illusion in the photo or a anti-tip-over method or a cleaver method of reducing your mates nibbles intake?

Thanks for the wood tip. The bowl is a bit bigger at the bottom, about 8mm thick in the centre as it is recessed for the chuck underneath when I was turning. the walls at the top are about 4mm thick though a bit thicker near the bottom with the curve.
