Hi Guys Here are a few photos of a fishing rod holder that I made for my brother for Christmas. The wood is Mulga, from Charleville, and it is finished in Organoil. burnished to 1200 grit.

Lucky brother, Teresa. Nice use of the natural grain colouring and curve of the timber. :)

Great work! Did you use the off cut from the bottom holder for the top brace? excellent and effecient use of timber if you did. beautifully simple!

Yes I drilled the holes in one piece of timber and then ripped it into three. The ends are also from one piece that I ripped about 50mm off, resawed both pieces and then glued the ripped pieces back on. :rolleyes: That was the only way I could fit it in my bandsaw.
