They have released a limited edition white bronze block plane to mark the occasion, it comes with two blades.

Not to take anything from LN Australia - great guys, with great service and enthusiam whom I have worked with at wood shows in the past - but I am sure this plane has been around for a while now ... ??

Also, LN (USA) are about to celebrate their 30th by releasing a version of the Stanley #20.

All that aside, the #102 block plane is a cracker.

Hi Derek & Greg,

Derek is sort of correct re the LN low angle block plane in white bronze. Lie-Nielsen Toolworks produced a limited small amount of 102 low angle block planes in white bronze a few years ago, a handful trickled through to Australia. There were no plans to produce this plane ever again so we asked Thomas Lie-Nielsen if he would produce it again especially and exclusively for our Australian Anniversary simply because we liked it so much.
Thomas thankfully agreed to our request and also agreed to sign each tool individually along with a numbered certificate. It has great heft for its size and it warms nicely in the hand with the advantage of two blades in A2 & 01 steel.
