Hi.. Cannot find a definite answer as to when Stanley stopped using this marking on their tools..
Heaps of history on the net about mergers and so on, but little about date range of markings.
Ken.

Kenny,

Not sure there's actually a definite answer. I am sure stanley just used up old stock etc and didnt stick completely to type study rules. Here are some sites to help which you may or may not have seen.

Stanley by Brunner (http://www.hansbrunnertools.gil.com.au/Stanley%20by%20numbers/StanleyDatingBenchPlanes.htm)

Plane Feature Timeline (http://hyperkitten.com/tools/stanley_bench_plane/type_study.php)

Hope it helps,

Nick

According to the information I have, Stanley Works and Stanley Rule & Level merged in 1920. Prior to that they were separate companies owned by different branches of the same family. I think they started using the new trademark shortly after that. I expect that they used up old stock before they started using the new trademark so the rollout was likely not all at once. I think they started using the new mark on 45 planes in 1922.
