G'day again,
A question for the science-minded.
I have bought some bronze powder to add to pieces for interest - used it the other day and it looked - ummm - very bright!. I would like to dull it down and try to get that aged vertigris effect, question is, how could I do that?
If I applied an acid like lemon juice or vinegar or maybe Coke - would that have an effect? Any ideas to experiment with?
I'm thinking that the bronze would need to be cemented? in place first before the catalyst was applied - would the catalyst change the colour the timber?
Haven't tried anything yet so would appreciate your thoughts.
Bruce.

Not sure anything will work, because as you turn it down you will cut off any "aging". Perhaps you could age it after turning, then when you get the product you are after, use a spray or paint on finish.
