This off our local news channel this evening, you've just got to watch (hear) the video, it plays,

That's amazing.

Making the straight bit would be simple enough (if amazingly accurate), but how the heck would you make the curved end pieces?

Dave I suggest you have a look at Bill Ooms (http://www.billooms.com/index.html) work for how to make the curved bits.

A good find, still prefer the sound of Brass, I just would like to hear it played in better conditions.

i am sure i sure an alpenhorn made from mdf (as part of a woodworking competition) in canberra .. i think it is at the wooworkers guild there ... i was told it was pitched in Bb rather than F so probably a brass band aficionado

it was done in 3/4 inch segments as i recall
