I have a Parker Furniture coffee table. It is about 20 years old. It is a limed finish. The finish however has changed. One half is lighter than the other. I want to restore it but am not sure how to go about it. I thought of sanding it back and then using a Cabots Liming stain or similar but am not sure if i should. It is a good quality piece of solid wood furniture. Can anyone help please.

Normal restoration process is strip old finish with paint stripper (methylene chloride from hardware store), dismantle and reglue joints if required, sand, stain or lime if desired, then apply finish (shellac, lacquer, varnish, oil or whatever).
First check that top is solid timber. Parker and similar furniture from that period is often veneer, with solid edging. If so stripping and sanding can easily damage thin veneer.
