Found this (http://www.highlandwoodworking.com/woodturning-tips-1109sep/curtis.html)which I thought people might be interested in, especially recalling TL's thread (http://www.woodworkforums.com/f8/wood-best-mallet-139053/) on mallets :)

Hi All,
I make a few of these, & I like to use Cotoneaster, Photinia & the likes.
I like my Coves a little deeper, as you can get a better hold on them.
Last one I made, I bored a 3/4in hole in the bottom & with a Wad Punch, cut about 10 Sheet Lead Wads + a bit of Loctite 401 + the Plug.
Weighed a Treat.

Hi Artme,
Not trying to be funny, but it does say the Wad Punch was for cutting the Lead.
