A guy I know wanted me restore an old milk seperator for him. I used Purpleheart in the rings and the light wood are Norwegian Birch. Each of the purpleheart rings have 12 segments and crank handle is split turned with 2 layer of newspaper between the 2 pieces in the handle.
All the wood are treated with Liberon Finishing Oil.

The separator separates the milk from the cream. It was hard work milking and work keeping the separator clean after each use. It was based on centrifical force and gravity. And for to make butter (not margarine) one have to make sourcream of the cream, and then whip the sourcream past the consistancy of whiping cream. :U

Well done. Can remember as a kid having to do that when we went to an uncles farm.
