Skew ChiDAMN!!

So, currently I'm making do with a bare minimum of hand tools to keep my sawdust cravings in check.
And for some reason I've been finding it difficult to get sandpapers in finer than 320 grit.
My current project is a knife-block... that can be disassembled for cleaning. (Don't ask! It's a honeydew.)
So, I've sanded to 320 grit and given it the first coat of Tung Oil. Naturally, the nap lifts and needs resanding. A quick wipe down with the 320 grit and another coat... and the nap raises again.
It appears that the 320 is just a tad to aggressive for rubbing back and, of course, I don't have any 'used' 320 grit to use instead.
I do have the piece of linen that I applied the Tung Oil with. Which has already set like cardboard... and is feeling a bit 'gritty.'
So in a moment of frustration, I rub the piece down with that!
Waddya know? It worked! :oo:
I've no idea what grit it works out to, but I always have plenty of application rags.
Looks like my shortage of 400 grit and finer has just been solved. :2tsup:
