FWIW

Wandered around Northern Machinery, 95 Plenty Rd Preston, Melb., today and noticed they had a second hand Woodfast lathe on the shop floor. About 5 speed, looked pretty clean, home made stand.

That's all I know; ring them if you want to know more.

No warranty express or implied; this is a public service announcement; no correspondence, esp about GMC lathes, will be entered into :p

I had a look at that lathe a little while ago. I was told it's a deceased estate item. I was offered a bucket of turning tools ,gauges, a chuck and some other stuff, I have forgotten the asking price however it was a little dear for me,that's not to say it isn't worth it I just don't have the justification for it. It truly is worth a look if you are a beginner (or looking to upgrade) looking for a package. Be sure to ask about the bits that go with it. I personally didn't fire it up so take someone along who knows a little about such things.
