Would anybody know of this picture and what site it came from, please ?
I'm after the details of how the chuck was hooked to the topslide, to be able do the the spirals on the posts.
Oh, forgot to add, it's a dollhouse model bed.
If this is posted in the wrong section, could the 'mods' please move it to the correct section.

Years ago there was a Sears Craftsman Router Crafter that had a set of cables and pulleys.
When you turned a crank it would pull a router along a guide while slowly turning the piece between centers.
See: Google (http://www.google.com/#hl=en&sugexp=kjrmc&cp=18&gs_id=34&xhr=t&q=sears+router+lathe&qe=c2VhcnMgcm91dGVyIGxhdGhl&qesig=kG941JE2piRjeaGnIl8cnA&pkc=AFgZ2tmuS286UE15T6eQM_n0Y-DeIyIH8fv7cZ_0UwrpIpokKh7p7_Njo7SdeIlWhqjRWUySDa8zROBvjrmVaaRC2g1hcHuUjw&pf=p&sclient=psy-ab&source=hp&pbx=1&oq=sears+router+lathe&aq=0&aqi=g1g-v1&aql=f&gs_sm=&gs_upl=&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.,cf.osb&fp=250116ba2d339486&biw=1143&bih=631)
The posts could have been laid out and carved by hand. Some folks have much more patience than I.
There are also ornamental turning lathes. There is a section on this site: http://www.woodworkforums.com/f22/

Thanks for that Paul, that one makes nice spirals, but it's a bit big for what I want to do.
Here's another photo showing it attached to a TAIG lathe.
Sorry about the photos, only managed to save the thumbnails from a hard drive that decided to quit and lost ALL info about this set-up.

You say it's from a dolls house so I'm assuming quite small, You might try the pen turners for advice but here's a pen version of the Sears Router Lathe.
Beall Pen Wizard (http://www.bealltool.com/products/penwizard/penwiz.php)
It might be small enough for what you want.

That is neat!! The price not so.
(Says I who bought an $850 used 20 inch Woodfast and a $268 chuck to put on it.)
For companions to the 12 inch Delta, 350mm Hegner, and South Bend Heavy 10 metal lathe.
