New ONE-TIME Tools

Woodpeckers have announced 2 new ONE-TIME Tools;


A 150mm Pocket Rule (http://woodworksupplies.com.au/prod786.htm), with a few unique Woodpecker enhancements.
A matching 450mm Bench Rule (http://woodworksupplies.com.au/prod787.htm), again tweaked by Woodpeckers.


The development of these follows a visit to Gregory Paolini in North Carolina [http://www.gregorypaolini.com] Gregory Paolini, offering hand made, custom furniture, cabinetry, and custom built-ins for discerning clients. It didn't take long for Gregory to elaborate on how useful a pocket rule is but how much better it could be with just a few tweaks. In particular he thought it should be thicker and wider. Thicker so it would stand upright on its own and wider to make room for a longer vertical scale.

Seeing the rebirth of the pocket rule, the next step was its 'big brother' a Bench Rule three times the size.

Hi all

Woodpeckers have decided to produce a combination Metric / Imperial version of both the Paolini Pocket Rule and the Woodpeckers Bench rule.

The the combination version of the Paolini Pocket Rule (http://woodworksupplies.com.au/prod791.htm)has a 1/16" graduated inch scale on top and a 1mm graduated metric scale along the bottom with a 1mm graduated vertical scale.

The opposite side has a 1mm graduated metric scale on top and a 1/32 graduated inch scale along the bottom with a 1/32" inch graduated vertical scale.

The larger bench style combo inch/metric ruler (http://woodworksupplies.com.au/prod791.htm)will be the same as the pocket combo rule except both inch scales will be graduated in 1/16" inch increments. The vertical inch scale will still be graduated to 1/32" of an inch.

These are ONE-TIME Tools and are made to order, they may be repeated in 12 months or never. The close-off date for orders is Thursday 15th December shipping ex Melbourne is expected mid to late February 2012.
