Looks to me like you've a nicely matched pair of turnings there. Well done.

What inserts did you use and more importantly, the lessons learnt you refer to - what were they?

Well done. You have made 2 more than I have. I keep putting it off for some reason. Tell us all about what you learnt please.

That time of year again.
They look like a matching set so you have mastered the hard part.

hi guys,
thanks for your comments,
so you want to know how i stuffed up :C:C
the first one i made from a blank of macrocarpa i bought
with a name like that i thought it was something exciting
very plain timber which was ok for the salt [white],but i
soon discovered it stunk and seemed just like some kind
of pine .
the second attempt was jacaranda which went well
except where the join was i did not make a tenon where the
two pieces met,and they looked ok , but when you turned the top
it move from side to side:~
so these two are actually attempt no.3 &no.4:o
so i feel so much better now i have revealled the truth:U:U
but hey, it is all a bit of fun at the end of the day
i hope i have enlightened you all as to,,,HOW NOT TO DO IT!!!!

I think the results are pretty good and always nice when doing something challenging and sticking with it.
