First post a new vase

Have been a member for quite a while and really enjoyed everybody else's posts and thought it was about time i put on a photo of one of my bits of work a vase out of dead finish. I think it's pretty good but any feed back would be great.

In the occasional post I read about this wood called 'Dead Finish', no idea what it is being a Brit. But if i had to identify the wood your vase is made from I'd swear it was Yew.

One of our most fantastically grained and colourful woods.

Whatever Dead Finish is, you've done that bit proud - well done.

Nice vase :D
as to 'dead finish' its a tree in the outer reaches of qld among others and gets its name from the fact that it is the last tree standing in a severe drought. Nice timber though and gets a nice finish. One of my fave desert timbers along with bullock bush,mallee and myall

Very Nice, Dead Finish is a nice grained timber , I believe that it does not grow to any size, how ever it is very hard.

Would love to get hold of some 1 day.
