i have been thinking about building a tablesaw/bandsaw bench mainly to compact my machines to help save space in my very small shop.i have been looking around different web sites including youtube and none seem to have much about something like this. so i was hoping maybe someone here could possibly share some ideas or maybe a website. also i think i am going to add a router to this formula:? thank you very much for any response.

Hi turrrdle

Could you be more descriptive please? Do you want a bench that ends up at the same table height as a table saw and bandsaw? Or you want to build each machine into one bench? Or do you want one slot and be able to run a circular or band saw blade through it with the intention of saving floor space?

well i wish i where more computer literate so that i could show you but... i what i have been thinking about is a kind of 4 in 1 work bench to save floor space. at the moment i have a huge work bench with a full peice of plywood 8'x4' , bandsaw , tablesaw , and would like to build a router table. but instead of building a router table i would like to build a bench wth my band saw at the left end the table saw some where around the middle and a router at the right end. i have a few ideas but not sure how feasible they are, for example i think that i should some how make the 2 saws ajustable so i wouldnt have to reset the fence when i go from cutting on one to the other. now the 4th in 4 in 1 would be get rid of my huge work bench and when needed i could push the fence over to the band saw end and have a decent work bench.:-

thank you bonox for your reply

What about buying a BS and a TS and build stands underneath them to get their tables to the same level and building a short bench in between them? If you want a bigger bench just drop the TS blade down. Personally I would find that sort of arrangement a PITA, every time something needed to be cut on the TS you'd have to clear the bench, but if you have no room you have no choice.

i have both now and just asking if any one have any ideas or website that would show any good ideas on how to combine them in 1 work bench.

thank you bobl:2tsup:

I wouldn't fix them in place into one bench but put them all on lockable wheels so they could be easily moved apart again if needed.

you might find some ideas by looking for auxilliary sawbenches (or in-feed and out-feed tables) and working from there for ideas on linking saws with benches.

I'm not 100% certain I totally understand what you're trying to achieve turrrdle but your description reminded me of THIS (http://christophermerrill.net/ww/plans/UTS/Tool_Stand_1.html).
There may be an idea or two in it you could use.
Cheers

Some very interesting articles there. I seem to notice a common thread through them all- They are all neat freaks and appear to have another storage area for all the household/personal/gardening materials that occupy every workshop I know.

My issue with the initial cause of this thread would be the significantly different heights at which I prefer the band saw and table saw
