This may be of interest:

GPW Master Tool System (http://www.garypye.com/Turning-Tools/GPW-Turning-Tools/Sets/GPW-Master-Tool-System-p726.html)

I'm not a fan of modular systems myself and can't speak about this steel but have had HSS blanks for my own toolmaking from GPW and have found them more reliable than McJing etc blanks.

McJing's (http://www.mcjing.com.au/categorybrowser.aspx?categoryid=75) version is $180

I have a Woodcut collet handle for my lesser used chisels, but now believe in having the "go to" chisels handled.

Yes, you can have some fun turning handles (and sometimes some grief with the tang or shaft); it's the one area where if it turns out different from what's intended it's a good thing as likely it'll be more easily recognised.

Like that 'spiral decorated' handle in amongst all the shavings is the 3/8" bowl gouge ;-}

Interesting,I am, also are not fond of modular systems, one handle several gouges too much mucking around.
