I asked Steve Wells : What type of steel he uses to make his SB cross feeed screws ?

The grade of steel he uses is 1144 stressproof. Is this available over here ? And, does it machine OK :oo: MIKE

The 11 in 1144 means it is a free machining steel....44 is the carbon content (0.44%)

No idea of availability...
