I just made a box and the tools I used were.

Powered:
Jointer
Thicknesser
Table saw
Drop saw
Sander
Router

Unpowered:
Hand planes (block and 4 1/2)
Chisels
Sandpaper
Squares
Clamps
Shooting board
Straight edge

You ofcourse don't need to use many power tools. The timber I used was rough sawn so it needed to be dressed. You can buy dressed timber, which is what I did when I started off and could make a box with some basic hand tools (chisels, hand saw, hand plane, shooting board, clamps, squares...)
You can buy box making kits that are dressed and cut to size. Here is a link

Good luck
