hi guys ,
blackbutt burl platter i made at the end of last year,
sorry about the colour of the photos not too sure why they are different:?
anyway:; comments and advice welcome

Might have accidentally put the carmera on 'tungsten' for the last three shots.

hi guys,
thanks for the comments,the dimensions are approx
540mm at the widest part x 75mm high,
finished with danish oil,eee and poly wipe
again thanks for taking the time to look and comment:2tsup:
i am not too sure what[ tungsten]:Bis but i only used my
mobile phone to take the photos:B

That is a beautiful piece of work. Bet the sanding was carefully done, all fingers present and accounted for. Congratulations. Where did you score the blank?

hi ted and michael,
yes i still have all my finger tips,although some
were a bit sore :doh::doh:the burl i bought from
a artsy crafty show type thing in dorrigo it was the only one
there i also scored some cedar and rosewood at the same time

Great looking platter !
I think the white balance (daylight / fluorescent / incandescent etc) on your mobile phone camera may be responsible for the difference in images.

That is a beautiful burl (burr). I like the fact that you've set the feature bead such that it does not all fall on the surface but in part looses to the natural shape.
