Hi all

Any good ideas out there ?

Im a good pen maker but very poor at the general carpentry and box making.

Id rather not buy a box for my pens so Im looking at simple boxes. Ive been working on a few prototypes but Im still not happy.

Ok prototype:

a) Timber blind slates cut and glued to timber ends - :q
b) Block of timber routed out with slot with a timber blind slate lid
c) Round turned block with hole drilled in end and a flat cut on the bottom :o
d) Block drilled on end and slit in half :B

Ive looked at the boxes shown in various wood magazines but they seem to be a bit too refined.

My thinking is something which is simple, rustic, and uses left over or recycled timber.

As you expect hinges are difficult so I have used a slotted or slip on lid.
