Can someone please give me some advice on using plywood sheets for external cladding. The following is a list of prices I have found but I am unsure of the difference in the quality of ivorywood compared to pacific maple
I am guessing I would need a minimum 9mm sheet preferably 12mm????

Would I be wasting $ using marine ply. This is for renovating a house in inner Brisbane.... built in 1947 with original fibro under (1980's?) aluminium cladding. I would like to remove the aluminium cladding which is riveted on but I am also aware of the likelihood of the fibro containing asbestos. My neighbour and the next two houses up all had exactly the same floorplan (renovated) as the builder built 4 identical houses at the same time. I have my asbestos removal license but would prefer to sheet over it.

Any advice would be appreciated

suggest you get CCA treated ply, thats resitant to rot and termites,

marine ply is waste as the ply is not underwater thus no requiring a defect free face.

Welcome Ducatiman89. (Nice sounding moniker:wink:).

The marine and exterior grade plys have waterproof glue which makes them able to withstand imersing in water with the former and limited contact with water in the latter. As to exact suitability I think I would contact a plywood manufacturer for further information.

Howdy DM89, checkout shadowclad exterior ply, manufactured and
treated as an exterior cladding also construction/bracing rated.
There are other similar products on the market but this is the only one I have used
