Camphor inhale the beauty nice work yes agree photo needs better lighting its a little green looking. This could be reflection/colour bounce from surrounding area.

Looks nice. You managed to get the wings nice and even . Were you able to avoid any checking in the base?

Okay, so the lighting is off.

The strange thing is before fully reading the article I thought that you'd stained the timber with a very thin wash of colour and thought how attractive it was.

maybe time to experiment with a little colour.

The green cast is probably caused by flouro lights, use incandescent on either side and /or correct the white balance if possible manually:wink:

hi guys ,
sorry for not repling sooner, have been a bit busy and have
also been a bit crook, anyway thanks for the comments
for some reason those photos came out a funny colour
my partner keeps marine fish and had a spare light with
differant colour tubes ,blue/white etc,she was not using it
so i thought it would be of better use above my lathe ,it seems to be
good for extra light over the lathe but maybe not for
photography:doh::doh:.i had a look for the vase to take some more photos
but not sure where i put it:o
anyway thanks to wheelinaround for fixing up the previous photos:2tsup:
will put some more photos when i can
thanks again the your comments and input, always appreciated
cheers smiife:2tsup:
