Amongst the blanks I received in my Swap from JustTurnin aka Chris Burgess, was a blank that was cast in black resin and inside an Alligator!!, So in thanks and on behalf of JustTurnin, I turned it into a Statesman Fountain Pen, many thanks Chris.:) Amos:)

Another fantastic pen Amos. The kit befits the special blank, and together make a very special pen. One for your collection I'd say ! :2tsup::)

Nice job Amos. How was the gator to turn? A little stinky I bet. I am about to start a 5 piece cutlery set using the jaw and am not looking forward to the smell.

On the question about Photography, nothing special, just that Photoshop really helps and importing via photobucket after resizing to 800 x 600, is a great help.
JustTurnin-Chris--thanks again--re the smell--I didn't smell it--why?--I have a 4" suction hose sitting on the lathe to extract fumes and smells especially CA smell.
I found that the Gator had small holes in it at the finish stage that needed building up with CA and then sanding down until it was all smooth., Amos:) Also I am using a 1 &1/4" gouge(32mm) well sharpened and it really did not dull it that much!!! I know what you will do now---go into the swamp and find a big old hard gator!!!--teach me a lesson:DAmos:)
