Ordered these from Amazon a couple of weeks ago and they arrived today.
$190 for both which even though the charger is 110V, is a bargain.

Fortunately the batteries are fully charged because I can;t find that 240V to 100V transformer anywhere :((

I got mine out of an old freezer (amana). freezer died 30 years ago but the transformer still works file. Maybe a look at the white goods that you can take to tips is worth a look. maybe there is one there that is US with good big transformer in ti.

I do have a transformer that will suit but it's in a box, somewhere ... :doh:

I might have a closer look inside the charger as it may be dual voltage.

EDIT: Charger is not dual voltage, 110V only.

check out any electrical supplier , and travel good stores they do have plug in adaptors for 110-240 and vice versa, these generally handle a couple of hundred watts, so might do the job.

actually, If you print it out and take it to buntings they will beat it by 10%

I just ordered the same drill combo although I got the hammer version with the XC fatback batteries $414 delivered

I'm just checking the various Bosch documents to make sure that the charger you linked to is compatible with my tools. I can't see that there would be too many 10-18v chargers other than for input voltages and perhaps different mains plugs.
I ordered a 240V-110V step-down transformer from eBay as the one I know I have somewhere, is still well hidden.

I was thinking of getting a step down transformer from ebay also but didn't know what size i need. The drill i'm getting has 3.0ah batteries.

i'm thinking as a min I would need a transformer with a capacity of (120x3.0) 360 Watts, is that correct?

looking at also getting a drill doctor sharpener from the states also so a transformer would also be good for it

A great buy, especially if the drill is one of the older Swiss-made models. The company more recently shifted production of drills to the Far East (Malaysia from memory), and these newer models, quite frankly, aren't a patch on the Swiss tools. I've actually stopped using my "top of the range" 18v Bosch and now use the older model GSB18VE2-Li as it has more of everything: speed, torque, power and unfortunately weight.

The charger shown (1820CV) is actually quite slow, taking an hour or so to charge the bigger 3.0ah batteries. The 1860 is the "quick" charger, taking about 30 mins. for 2.6 and 35-40 mins. for 3.0ah batteries.

Makita lithium batteries, by contrast are fully charged in only 22mins.

How have you found the rattler? I bought a combined drill/rattler GDR18V-Li MF which is a supposedly "multifunction" tool. It's a frustrating tool to use, as a rattler it's a bit too big in the head for convenience, and as a drill it lacks a conventional chuck and clutch, making it all too easy to stall out. Stalling will kill any drill really quickly, as it places an inordinate temperature load on the armature windings. I have a spare Bosch rattler at the ready in case it dies on me, which to give the tool it's due hasn't happened as yet in a year's hard daily use.

The batteries that came with my drill/impact driver are 1.2AH which partly explains the cheap price. If I was a tradie using the tools all day, it would be an issue. I'm also unlikely to need both tools at the same time in fact I don't really need an impact driver but I'm a sucker for a deal :)
So far the rattler is unused.
