Anyone willing to turn a small pin?

Hi everyone,

I'm in need of a small metal stud to fit a bandsaw guide onto my existing saw. Problem is the current pin for the old guides is too narrow and the new pin on the guide won't fit the existing mount as it's too wide.

So I need a 2 to 3 inch bar, about 10mm thick at one end, and about 5/8 inches at the other end. I will of course get exact measurements for anyone willing to take the job. This is more of a feeler to see if I can give the job to a forumite.

Is anyone in or near ipswich qld willing to help out with this, or suggest a company that can do it without me having to mortgage my place? I will of course pay whoever can do it in either beer or currency.

If you can find your way to my place at Eagleby near beenleigh I am sure we can fix you up on the spot :) look at perhaps a stepped bush to make the new one fit into the place of the old one :) In any case if there is no one closer I will be bringing my small metal lathe to Q turn so could be done then :) cheers ~ John

Thanks for all the offers guys. I'm still doing some dry fitting so to speak, just to ensure I know every measurement exactly before I ask anyone to do it.

I'm trying to make sure that once it's all together that there aren't any problems with parts not fitting relative to anything else. So far I've used an existing bar from the original metabo guides and wrapped electrical tape around it at one end to fit it in the new guide hole. Don't worry I'm not going to run it with this set up, I'm just making sure it lines up the way I want. I'd have done this earlier but work this week was hell and the maleny show distracted me all yesterday.

I'm going to probably start up a new thread to show off the retro fitting step by step too if anyone is interested. I don't believe my saw is a hugely popular one but for anyone who owns one and wants to try something like this it may help them.
