abrogard

I have made a little table with legs dowelled into the top rail. Done a pretty bad hurried job and I've got a corner there with a gap up to nearly 3mm between the leg and the rail.
The gap is wedge shaped. It's not cut square. Meets at one end, not at the other.
And the top is three pieces of wood dowel joined again and two of the pieces were not planed straight and there's a wedge shaped gap again at the end of their travel. It's about 50mm long, gets up to about 3mm max again.
I'm not going to pull it all apart and try to properly fix it. I want to put some junk in there that will fill the gap and make good the join at the same time.
It's not a real important item, hurriedly made to fill a relatively unimportant need. No excuse for making it badly, though, I admit. Forgive me. I'm an amateur, just learning.
Gap filler, I assume, won't do - it'll fill the gap but not provide any strength to the join. It'd be good to have strength in that leg corner lest it undergoes any sideways strain at any time.
Would liquid nails be the solution? I'm just thinking that might not fill the gap, being mainly a glue.
Is there a product best for this application, maybe specifically designed for it?
All these epoxy resins maybe - like Araldite and such?
