Not a very complicated woodworking job but some woodwork was involved.

I needed a rack for my HiFi equipment as it was getting very hot indeed sitting in a cabinet.

First I went to Ikea and purchased six Lack tables. $10 each. Legs were thrown away.
Next I cut some 45mm dowel to the required lengths, 200mm and 150mm.
The dowels were placed in a jig on the drill pres and a hole was drilled from one end of the dowel to the other. To accomodate a threaded rod.
Where the legs were meant to screw into the table I drilled a hole the same size as the holes in the dowels.
Then it was just a matter of assembly.
Feed the rod through a table, add a dowel, add another table etc. Finished off at each end with dome nuts.
When the unit was assembled a board was placed on the back. Screws were inserted and holes were drilled for cables.

Quick and dirty job taking advantage of pre built shelves.
For my next audio rack I will make the shelves solid wood.

Nicely done.

The pink does give the stand a unique custom feel :2tsup:
