In January I was lucky enough to organize a one on one workshop with the Australian guru and master craftman in hollow form design, Paul Barton. Since then I have tried to remember what he taught me and also tried in some sort of a way to emulate him. As it seems it will take me several years of practice to get anywhere near his standart. Here is my effort:
1) Unknown eucalypt body with a redgum throad 180mm x 120mm,opening 50mm
2) Black wattle 240mm x 150mm, opening 50mm
3) Huon pine 260mm x 140mm, opening 40mm
4) Spalted black wattle 190mm x 220mm, opening 35mm
5) campher laurel 290mm x 230mm, opening 45mm.

Very nice... I particularly like the Spalted black wattle. How thick do you make the walls with something like this?

Many thanks for all the positive feedback but than on the other hand I would like to get some negative feedback as well. Only this way one gets to know where to improve.
The wall thickness of the Huon pine form (vase) is between 3-4mm (by default not design), the wall thickness of the spalted black wattle form is about 5mm on the bark patches and in other parts about 10mm. Like i said, I got a long way to go.

Nice looking collection.

I'd say you learnt plenty and remembered most of it.

Well done.
