So I made a Jewellery box for a friend of mine who lives in Austin TX. He's giving it to his wife for their 18th Wedding anniversary.

The box is 300mm long x 250mm wide x 95mm deep with an extra 16mm in the lid.
The timbers are
Main Box and lid rim: Jarrah.
Lid Panel Figured Red Gum.
Trays: Figured Queensland Maple.

The box was finished in Organoil Hard Burnishing Oil. The wood was sanded to 400g dry, then saturated with oil and allowed to soak for 10-15 minutes, soaked again and sanded to 4000grit. Then the box was wiped down with a soft cotton cloth.

The hinges are silver plated brass quadrant hinges, with square ends!!from Anton Gerner.

Joinery where used was Dominoes. 6mm and 5mm.

Regards,

Rob
