Hi there - I'm new to Melbourne and haven't picked up a wood turning tool in around 18 years but keen to find a place to reacquaint myself with the fun of woodwork, in particular wood turning.

I live in the Hawthorn area and work on St Kilda road. Any tips about places to start near those locations would be really appreciated! Many thanks in advance, J

Try here, Mens Sheds Men's Sheds AMSA Australian Men's Shed Asscociation (http://www.mensshed.org/home/.aspx) . Or alternatively google up on woodworking clubs or turning clubs in melbourne, returned too many results to type out, one of the melbourne guys should be able to direct you better, good luck hope you enjoy the return.

Neal.

What Thompy said. You could also peruse this list from the Victorian Woodworkers Association:

VWA Resources: Club Listing - Victoria (http://www.vwa.org.au/index.php/resources/clubs/vic/)

The Australia Woodturning Exhibition is on at Nunawading on the weekend 15th to 17th of June.

Details at the website: The Australian Woodturning Exhibition 2012 (http://www.theaustralianwoodturningexhibition.net/)

Hope this helps :)
