Was Given a couple of oak kitchen worktop cut outs by my sister. So cut and glued some of the smaller one up and made this hollow form, this is the largest hollow form that I have attempted it measures 5 3/4" x 4" managed to get the wall thickness between 5 and 7mm except the bottom which is 12mm thick.
Also A small spalted beech bowl also 5 3/4" X 2"

Digger, so you see what you can do with a kitchen worktop.
Neat adhesive joints, not easy I admit.
How fortunate it is solid oak, today it is pressed stuff.
Not normally my style, yet attractive to watch.
The Spalted beech bowl is beautiful.
Well done.

Thank you both for the comments. Ad I had to put the bits through the thicknesser to get a good glue joint as the worktop had a slight bow in it

Nice :2tsup:
I once used oak butcher block slabs to turn a Lazy Susan.
The nice part is that it matched the kitchen it went to.
The bearings can be found at woodworking supply shops.

next time you go to sis for dinner take the chainsaw.
She needs a hole cut to put a wok burner in.
You can give her the burner for Xmas.

Thank you all.

I love to use recycled wood where ever I can not only is it cheap but it is surprising the different types you can get (also saves it ending up in the tip):thyel:.
If my sister cut any more holes out she would not have a worktop B.
