Burl versus White Ants.

I was really looking forward to turning this burl.
It had laid on the ground at my friends place for a couple of years.

Sliced it up & found that the white ants have had a field day.:((:((

Before you introduce the Burl to your shed/work area I'd microwave the burl for short bursts to remove the remaining sods.

Okay so you can't turn it. But it looks fantastic, there must be some sort of design opertunity/ interior design application/ sculpture in whats left.

Well, I rescued a few pen blanks out of the other pieces, so all is not lost.

No need to nuke it, I just stood it on a black ant nest & I got several minutes entertainment into the bargain...:D:D plus the black ants had a good feed.
