Hey people, well im one of those "just enjoy reading and looking" forum person as i dont have a whole lot to contribute to the woodworking world but i really enjoy looking at what everyone has, my relationship with wood is i am a amateur knife maker and well my favourite part is making the handles haha.

I have a i guess thing, border line fetish for highly figured, highly curly wood like attached in the picture and i am trying to source some but i'd be buggered if i know where, im after the really figured/curly stuff to use on my handles, i was wondering if there is anyone on here that might be able to point me in the right direction of where i can find some or if there is someone on here that sells some even better. The wood is either Tasmanian blackwood or mango wood which both what im chasing.

Please dont count my low post count as anything, as i said im more a looker then a poster but i genuinely am after some highly curly wood

thanks in advance

keith

Mal at Boutique Timbers has mango, will bring some down to the Sydney wood show next week and I'm sure there will be blackwood there as well with other suppliers.
Come to Homebush and take a look, or you can contact Mal in the evenings on 65858296 and he can bring some down for you

Hi Keith,

Call Britton Timbers Smithton Tassie. Ask for Ian Mc Master he's the guru of their extra special goodies.
