The big house at the top of the Hill has had a branch break of with the weight from the recent heavy snow in Kent, England. The Wood is Cedar of Lebanon and the branch is about 2 1/2 feet wide. Can anyone tell me if they have worked any of it for bowls and the like?

I look forward to your wise responses.

Many thanks

Richard

]Absolutely, she told me her tree surgeon is coming today and she will get him to cut it as I wish, which will be Width by Length = Width + 6 inches.

Looking forward to turning some wet and storing some. My breif investigation into so far lead me to understand it is used for cabinate making and pens.

Regards

Richard

This link isn't really what you are after for turning info but it's interesting none the less.

Jeez Richard - Make up your mind which forum you are going to post in.

From my post in Finishing Forum.....

The cedar of antiquity - supposedly what Noah built the ark with.

I have some, works really well and is easy to use, very pleasing cedar colour when aged and has an absolutely wonderful fruity smell.

Cheers - Neil :)

It is also THE wood for making things Ancient Egyptian, along with Ivory & Ebony, and a fair bit of gold. :) Feel like whipping up a Solar Barge?
