View Full Version : Figured Myrtle bowls

I bought a slab of figured Myrtle some years ago at the Working with Wood Show and at long last I cut it up and made 2 shallow bowls from it. The larger one has a diameter of some 400 mm and the small one around 280 mm and the height is about 40 mm The wood has quite a bit of spalting, some rot and worm holes as well. The real product looks better than the pictures.

Ya gotta love Myrtle for its colour and figure, I found it easy to turn and sand. :2tsup:
Great looking pieces, reminds me to get some more.
